Jesus told us to love one another. The appearance of actual winter temperatures has us thinking about those who have basic, material needs to stay warm. Our elementary students are having a sock and mitten collection and working together to make fleece blankets..
Familes are encouraged to bring bright colored new socks, mittens and gloves which will be collected and then passed on to those in need. The students are also working together on both Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings to tie fleece blankets, made from bright colored fabric. Each knot helps us think about a man, woman, or child who needs a warm place to sleep, a blanket to comfort them.
This project continues our tradition of children helping other children, living and sharing as Jesus would have us do. We are blessed, and want to care for others.
