What is Pilgrimage?
Pilgrimage is a series of three retreats. It is
--a time of Sabbath,
--a time to retreat from the daily routine,
--a time to practice spiritual disciplines that cultivate your sense of Christian spirituality.
This first retreat focuses on devotional patterns, scripture reading, prayer and building community. How can I incorporate intentional scripture reading and prayer into my daily life?
Pilgrimage also gives you the unique opportunity to talk about your faith with others who share your interest in Christian practices. Both men and women are invited; the total group will be small, and divide into smaller sub-groups for many of the discussions. Not all participants will be from our congregation; this is a conference-sponsored program.
The 2nd and 3rd weekends will be scheduled to fit the calendars of the participants (one in the winter, one in the spring, most likely.) Those weekends will be hosted here as well. Between retreats, participants will gather in small accountability groups – in person or via email.
Pilgrimage is based on a very traditional model of Scripture, introspection and conversation. It can be a life-changing, transformative experience. Several current congregants are past participants and have offered to visit with anyone about their experience. Please contact alairew@msn.com if you would like to reserve a space on Pilgrimage.
